WordPress 4.4 'Clifford' and I have completed Five consecutive contribution in WordPress Core :)

Today, WordPress 4.4  ‘Clifford’ is released and I am also in the core contributor list. I have been a core contributor since WordPress 4.0 ‘Benny’.

My first patch got submitted in WordPress 4.0. I was very excited at that time but today I am more excited because today I have completed 5 consecutive contribution in WordPress Core from 4.0 to 4.4.

I do this because I love it, I feel happy when I see anything in an improved way. 

Really, you will feel happy when you will see your name appearing in more than 24 million website on the web.

In WordPress 4.4, I have managed to get four core contributions. My 4 commits have been accepted in 4.4. #33786, #30317, #34509,  #33868

In WordPress 4.3 ‘Billie’, my two commits accepted  #33259, #33280

WordPress 4.2 ‘Powell’ -   #31131

I am really excited about this new direction of WordPress. It’s been a year since I decided to take a leap of faith, leave everything else and focus over WordPress and the community around it.

My journey behind starting the contribution is very long, will write in another post. I don’t know if you’ll be as lucky as me, but contributing to open-source projects is very joyful.

As day by day, I get involved in WordPress, I learn many new things.

Apart from WP core, I contributed in BuddyPress, bbPress, WooCommerce etc etc. 

WordPress is a great open source software, there are so many field in which you can contribute.

Trust me, it is not necessary, you should be a great developer to contribute to open source. Remember, WordPress needs your love and your interest, you can contribute to WordPress in your own ways.

Open Source needs contributions from everyone of all skills and levels of expertise.

and at end, I am thinking another road map for fall in love with WordPress ;)
